The Story

Nathan started baking cupcakes for the teachers at his previous school, turning "Cupcake Fridays" into a cherished tradition. The teachers quickly noticed his passion and offered encouragement and suggestions, all while savoring his delicious creations.

Five years later, Nathan made his debut with a three-tier cake for LD’s birthday party. He soon began baking from his home kitchen, rapidly gaining a loyal following in Pocatello.  It didn't take long and he was known for his intricately designed royal icing sugar cookies and exquisite cakes.

In 2019, after appearing on Food Network's Christmas Cookie Challenge, Nathan initially decided to step away from TV. However, when Netflix came calling, he reconsidered and took on the challenge, leading to an exciting new chapter in his baking journey!

Nathan then pursued another passion: cosmetology. He worked in both Pocatello and Salt Lake City, all the while continuing to bake from home. Despite his success in the "bald barber" world, he realized his true calling was baking. He decided to trade his shears for spatulas and opened Confections Bakery inside Flowers By LD in February 2021. A year later, his sister Ashley joined him, bringing her crafty skills to the business. Over the past three years, the duo has become a powerhouse in Southeast Idaho, delighting customers with delectable treats, custom cakes, and wedding masterpieces. They also supply many local coffee shops with their baked goods.
